We had a delightful collaboration with Ankrom Moisan Architects as Executive Architect on the masononmariposa project in San Francisco.
Mason on Mariposa is a multi-family living developments to the charming Potrero Hill neighborhood in the City. As there is always a constant lack of housing in SF, this complex is one of the first to bring new multi-family living space to the area.
Four years of hard work paid off and resulted in a wonderful project, the partnership of many talented teams. It was a collaboration between the city of San Francisco, the general contractor, all the engineers, and three outside Design Architect teams. Ankrom Moisan as Executive Architect was responsible for the entire project.
The firm mainly used the photographs of this completed project to showcase their work and add to their portfolio and for documentation. The visuals produced by me and my team helped to accurately represent the design and features of the building and give potential clients a better sense of what this architecture firm is capable of when it comes to housing projects.
After the initial scouting it became evident that we have a beautiful building complex to work with but in May the weather was not cooperating according to our plans. Timing and patience paid off though to come up with the required results.
The building complex is as energy efficient as possible. Ankrom Moisan worked to reduce each building’s energy load, like a curtain wall system that combines glass and solar technology.
As a common business practice before shoots like this we got several meetings with the marketing team putting together a shot list and discussing the draft along the way. This helped the whole project team to keep this shoot efficient and decide which other parties might be interested in the results we had planned. On of the three design architecture firms David Baker Architects was on board to join in.
It was fun and playful to cover both the exterior and the interior features with their warm palette of materials, fixtures, and finishes . We decided that the best time to cover most planned images was in the late morning hours when the morning fog lifted and allowed the plentiful sunshine to create the best light for each of compositions.
Special thanks to Joe Hackett for his help during this productive shoot and make it a lot of fun.
